The Shooting For A Cure! game is an event I feel very lucky to be a part of. This will be my sixth year participating in the game, and each year it means a little more and impacts a little deeper. I really notice the people who are struggling, and, as I listen to their stories, they inspire me even more. It makes me want to help,  and it adds to my love for the game when I am surrounded by my teammates with one goal: to help others in the community.

This game is so much bigger than a sports contest; it represents determination, love, and synergy. Any event that inspires an entire community of people--regardless of age, gender, race, or beliefs--to come together and fight for a common goal is an event worth incredible celebration. Twelve consecutive years of our community focusing on a common goal--to raise awareness for an issue that has affected many of us--is certainly something quite special, a beautiful showcase of love, not only for those who are affected by cancer, but also for each other. The Pink Game has left a lasting impact on me, on Pembroke, and on this region for over a decade, and I hope it will continue to do so for decades to come.

The Pink Game, to me, is more than just a basketball game. As a player, it’s very rewarding to hear the final amount of money we’ve raised for cancer research. As a member of the community, it’s also very rewarding to see everyone rally together as a small community and come and support this huge event. I am very thankful to be a part of this event as it’s taught me how to do big things for others.

The annual Shooting For A Cure! game is one of my favorite parts of our basketball season. I love seeing everyone at school and at the game all wearing pink in support of Roswell Park and others in our community. This game is really important because we aren’t playing just for ourselves but for everyone else. Our Pink Game has taught me that, with just a little bit of love from everyone, we can accomplish anything together. I’m happy we are still continuing to bring our community together every year, which proves that it is more than just a game. As a team, we all work together to make this event happen each year, and we will be proud of whatever we are able to accomplish this year.

The Shooting For A Cure! game is important to me because it is nice to see our community come together and raise awareness for a cause that is so very special to many people. To me this basketball game is so much more than just a “game.” I’m very grateful and blessed to be a part of this community where we can support one another.  In a world where there is so much conflict…this game is a time to come together…with one common cause…a cause that benefits all…to raise money to fight an awful disease that affects each and every one of us. We are so fortunate to have Roswell right here in WNY.

The Shooting for a Cure! game means a lot to me and is a big part of my basketball season. This year will be my fourth year participating in the Pink Game. I love this opportunity to do something for my community. My favorite part of the game is the halftime ceremony where we recognize survivors, people who are still fighting, and people who have lost their lives to cancer in our community. The hearts of our community are so pure and strong. This event has changed our community in many ways and I’m glad I can be a part of it. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting our cause and thank you everyone who comes and supports us for our 12th annual Pink Game on February 3rd, 2023.

The Pink Game is an inspiring and motivational game to help raise money for Roswell. This game is a very important game as it gives players and spectators the chance to share their stories and remember the lives of family members and friends who have fought cancer. Many members of the community have lost their loved ones to cancer. Helping the community know that there are people supporting them and fighting for them is what this game is all about.  . The other players and I are very grateful that we could bring the community together and show our support for everyone who is or has been affected by cancer. Tonight is so much more than a basketball game; it’s a fight against cancer, and being a part of this, for me, is one step ahead to help out. My team and this game can make a big difference in people’s lives, and I’m proud and deeply grateful to be a part of it.

The Pink Game to me is an opportunity for our community to come together as one, regardless of what’s happening in life. I’ve always enjoyed watching my sisters and friends play in the games through the years. No matter what the outcome of the actual game is, it isn’t the main focus point, and everyone is always positive and uplifting regardless of the score. At halftime, when people who have first hand experience or had relatives who’ve fought cancer come and we recognize them, it’s always an impactful experience because all of us can see  how the community loves on each other. That’s the Pink Game to me.

To me, the Pink Game is more than just a game; it is a great way for our community to come together and raise money for a major cause. I have seen families go through the pain of watching their loved ones pass, and this is a great way for families who have lost someone to cancer to know there is a community here that cares. We are grateful that we have a Rosewell nearby and if what we do through the Pink Game means that one more person gets good treatment there, that’s something to be proud of. This game is very important in many ways to different people because not everyone has experienced what others have gone through.
