The Pembroke Intermediate School has two bands- the A Band and the B Band! In 4th grade, students can begin learning an instrument and have lessons once a week. Once students reach a certain page in their lesson book, they will have the opportunity to join the B Band. Once students then reach a page farther in their lesson book, students then have the opportunity to join the A Band and lessons still continue. This allows our students to work and switch bands at their own pace. Our award winning band program participates in many fun events and trips throughout the year! Once the school year starts, 4th grade students will receive instrument demonstrations and have the opportunity to try out any instruments they are interested in playing!
Meet Mr. Benjamin Kohn!
Hello and welcome to the Pembroke Intermediate School Band Program! Mr. Benjamin Kohn directs the two bands here in the Pembroke Intermediate School- A Band and B Band. Mr. Kohn also directs the Jazz Ensembles in the Jr/Sr High School- Jazz Lab and Super Jazz! Mr. Kohn received his Bachelors Degree in Saxophone and Music Education, and received his Masters Degree in Music Performance with a Graduate Assistantship in Conducting from SUNY Fredonia! This is Mr. Kohn's first year as a Pembroke Dragon! Mr. Kohn is beyond excited to join this wonderful district and cannot wait to meet all the incoming young musicians and to make fun and incredible music!
