Read Across America is the nation’s largest annual, year-round literacy initiative, launched by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998. Celebrated on March 2nd—coinciding with Dr. Seuss's birthday—and throughout the year, the program aims to motivate children and teens to read, bringing together communities for reading events, book drives, and activities.
#ReadAcrossPemberton Day 2026 was celebrated on March 2nd with a community-wide 20-minute DEAR event. This inaugural event was celebrated at all schools in PTSD, by students' families, and in the community. HFMS students even used this time to share their love of reading with pre-school students at the Pemberton Early Childhood Education Center. #ReadAcrossPemberton is sure to be a district-wide event for many years to come!
