Coach's Job Description

  1. Assume the responsibility for the overall promotion and development of sport fundamentals.
  2. Make recommendations for scheduling to the Athletic Director.
  3. Recommend to the Athletic Director at the end of the season the needed purchases for the following season.
  4. Regularly inspect and perform needed maintenance of all equipment. If major repairs are needed, inform the Athletic Director to arrange work to be done.
  5. Responsible for all uniforms and equipment issued to the team. At the end of the season, complete a thorough inventory of uniforms and equipment and give the inventory list to the Athletic Director.
  6. Monitor locker rooms and keep them neat and organized after all practices and games, both home and away.
  7. Remain at school for up to 15 minutes after practice and games or until all athletes from their sport have departed. This responsibility can only be delegated to another teacher or administrator.
  8. Notify the Head of School to secure a substitute if a class is missed during the normal school day for a contest.
  9. Recruit and train student managers, statisticians, and video personnel.
  10. Report 8th-grade game results to the Athletic Director.
  11. Maintain an accurate knowledge of rules pertaining to the sport. Watch necessary rules meetings prior to the beginning of the season.
  12. Maintain accurate individual and season statistics and records. Submit a completed season summary to the Athletic Director at the end of the season.
  13. Assure that athletes have completed an Emergency Medical card and have cards available at all team activities. Emergency Medical cards must be turned into the Athletic Director at the end of the season.
  14. Turn in or email (email is preferred) a complete team roster to the Athletic Director at the beginning of the season. The roster must give information such as uniform number, height, class, and position will be needed for game program purposes.
  15. Communicate to players and parents any additions to team rules as stated in the Athletic Handbook.
  16. Pursue post-season achievements for individual and team honors.
  17. Support other sports and activities as all sports and activities enhance the student experience at PCGS.
