WELCOME TO MRS. HUSSEY'S FIRST GRADE CLASSROOM!
*WE ARE A NUT FREE CLASSROOM*
Hello! My name is Tracy Hussey, and I am so excited to be a first grade teacher at Pelham Elementary School! This is my 20th year in education and my 13th year at PES. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Pelham community and to have the opportunity to work with our amazing students and families.
On a personal note, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and hold a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students in preschool, first grade, third grade, special education, and Title I. These experiences have helped me develop a deep appreciation for the unique strengths, needs, and personalities that each child brings to the classroom. I believe that first grade is such an exciting and important year, filled with growth, discovery, and so many "aha!" moments. My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels safe, supported, valued, and excited to learn.
Outside of the classroom, I am very involved in the Pelham community and have a deep passion for cheerleading. I am the head cheer coach at Pelham High School and I am incredibly proud to be a 3-time State Champion coach for PHS! I have also been coaching at ECE, an All-Star cheer gym, for 20 years. Through coaching, I have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible athletes and watch them grow both on and off the mat.
In addition to coaching, I am also a judge for American Youth Cheer, which is something I truly enjoy. Being able to stay involved in different areas of the cheer community has been incredibly rewarding, and I love sharing my passion for teamwork, dedication, confidence, and perseverance with athletes of all ages.
When I am not teaching or coaching, I love spending time with my family. I am married to my husband Justin and have a 15-year-old daughter, who will be a sophomore at Pinkerton Academy. She is also a cheerleader, so you can imagine that cheer is a pretty big part of our household! We also have a boxer named Kona, who keeps us entertained and definitely keeps life interesting.
In my free time, I love going to the beach, being outside, drinking cold brew Iced coffee, eating seafood, watching Netflix and crime shows, spending time with my family, and cheering on the Boston Celtics! ☘️
I am so excited for another wonderful year at PES and cannot wait to watch my first graders learn, grow, laugh, and shine throughout the year. I feel so lucky to be part of their journey and look forward to making this a fun, positive, and memorable first grade experience!
Thank you, Tracy Hussey💚
