Hello Students and Families!
I’m Kimberly Hirsch and I am so excited to be teaching first grade this year! I’ve been a teacher for over 11 years, and this is my second year teaching in Pelham.
I grew up in Massachusetts and went to Providence College in Rhode Island. After college, I moved all the way to Nevada, where I taught 3rd grade for nearly ten years. I absolutely loved teaching, but I stepped away from the classroom when my oldest son, Jaxson, was born. He’s now heading into 7th grade right here in Pelham!
After Jaxson was born, my family decided to move back to the East Coast—and we chose Pelham! My husband grew up here, and we knew it was the perfect place to raise our family. Our youngest son, Zachary, was born here and is going into 4th grade at PES this year.
We did spend a few years living in Utah for my husband’s career (and we loved it!), but we missed Pelham too much to stay away. While we were in Utah, I followed a big dream and became a children’s book author! I’ve written four books that I can’t wait to share with you. 😊
Last year was my first year teaching first grade and I LOVED it. I love teaching kids how to read--it's such a big milestone and I am so lucky that I get to be a part of that.
When I’m not teaching or writing, you’ll find me:
Reading books 📚
Baking healthy recipes 👩🍳
Geocaching with my family 🧭
Exercising at the gym 🥊
Travelling and seeing new places ✈️
Eating sushi and other delicious food 🍣
And cheering on my boys at soccer, football, wrestling, and basketball games! ⚽🏈🤼🏀
I can’t wait for a wonderful year together. It’s going to be amazing! Enjoy your summer and see you soon!
Love,
Mrs. Hirsch
