PCHS offers the PSAT/NMSQT to Juniors and Sophomores each year in October.
Students can opt to take the SAT on their own at a local testing center on a national Saturday Testing Date. Students can sign up on College Board
The SAT is an admission test accepted by all U.S. colleges, and the College Board has programs to encourage all students to take advantage of higher education. Income-eligible SAT takers receive college application fees and waivers, and all students can opt into Student Search Service to receive free information about admission and financial aid from colleges, universities, and scholarship programs (CollegeBoard.org).
The SAT has 3 multiple-choice tests: Reading Test, Writing and Language Test, Math Test, and an optional essay. Students are given an overall score of 400-1600. The College Board website offers good information about the test, as well as free test prep through Khan Academy online.
