Academic Support

Homework Overtime - Students who are looking for a quiet, supportive time and place to do homework after school are invited to the library for Homework Overtime.  There is a teacher/tutor who supervises and supports homework completion there Monday—Thursday from 3:10-4:00 P.M.  Bus transportation is available on Monday through Thursday. Students must sign in and are expected to follow school rules and work diligently.

Math Assistance Center (MAC lab) - The Math Assistance Center is located in the C300 Math pod.  A math teacher and student assistants are available for tutoring help in any level of math.  Students can also come to the MAC lab to finish working on an assessment that they either missed or did not finish during class time. A pass from the math teacher is required.

Peer Math/Science Tutor - Ask your subject teacher or school counselor to get your connected with a peer tutor.

Evening Math Tutoring - A PCHS teacher is available via Google Meet for general homework help.  Click on “Evening Math Tutoring Link” on the school website to get the Google Meet link to a digital tutoring session. Available on school days,  Monday through Thursday from 7-8 p.m.

PCHS School Library - The school library is open  from 7:00 A.M.—3:30 P.M. as a supervised area for students to work on homework, use the computers/printer, meet for group project work, and check out books and magazines. Please note that the library closes at 3:15 P.M. on Fridays.  

PCHS Databases -The  library  also offers online research and databases.  Access it for free through the "Library Resources" link on the “Student” tab on the school website:  Username—pekinhigh        Password—dragon

Pekin Public Library - The public library is open Monday through Thursday from 9—8, Friday from 9—6, and Saturdays from 9—5.  The  computer lab is available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Skyward  - The student information system for the school can be accessed by logging into Skyward Parent Access under the “Parents” tab on the school website using your school issued username and password.  If you have questions about it or need it resent to you, please email: skywardinfo@pekinhigh.net.  Each week parents are emailed an auto-generated Skyward grade and attendance report.
