Tips for Building your RESUME:
Be sure to talk about what you have to offer that others may not; Be specific and use examples that show your distinct qualities
Sell your past experiences and relate them to what you learned and how that will be beneficial to the employer; how do you add value?
Be sure to mention soft skills. For example:
The patience that you learned while working with difficult peers/customers at McDonald’s
Problem solving skills you picked up while babysitting multiple children
Every experience matters! Consider jobs you have done for family members, neighbors, community service projects, extracurriculars, etc.
The most effective resume matches your skills and accomplishments to the needs of the college or employer.
Always try to put yourself in their shoes. “What are they looking for?”
