In our shared role as CEOs, we confront formidable challenges that transcend industry boundaries, yet often lack the tools to decipher their complexities. My personal journey, marked by an eclectic mix of career experiences spanning executive headhunting, running cutting-edge software companies and HR Leadership, has culminated in the emergence of a new paradigm: “Business Optimization and Risk Management of the Workforce,” (BOROW).
With a familial connection to Dr. David Hilbert, the Father of, “Modern German Mathematics,” and also, “The Founder of Supply Chain Management,” I suspect some of his practical creativity is ingrained in my DNA. Inefficient critical business processes carry high risks and costs. Much of my career focused on efficiency modeling and automations. I share your pain of inefficient critical processes.
During my tenure at Valero Energy, I spearheaded efforts to bridge the gap between traditional soft HR workforce management and Supply Chain Management-like data-driven decision-making. Recognizing the critical need to normalize and integrate multi-departmental Big Data sets, leveraging advanced mathematics and technology, and linking workforce data to key business performance metrics, we embarked on a transformative journey.
Through initiatives like leading the Texas Healthcare Workforce Planning Consortium, we harnessed unprecedented volumes of HR, workforce and healthcare business data, shedding light on previously hidden insights. We were selected over Mercer, Deloitte and IBM, an honor to say the least.
The value of our work lies in our ability to debunk long-standing myths and hunches, replacing them with empirical evidence and actionable insights. We've witnessed firsthand the transformative power of data-driven decision-making, empowering CEOs, CFOs, and COOs to navigate previous business crises with confidence.
