Nyack WIC Center is located at 58 DePew Avenue, Nyack, NY 10960, and can be reached at (845) 353-6037. The center is open on Mondays. WIC is a federal program serving participants who qualify based on financial and medical or nutritional need. It supports pregnant women, mothers of babies up to six months old, breastfeeding mothers of children up to 12 months old, and children under five.
Participants receive checks to purchase supplemental nutritious foods such as milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice, fruits, and vegetables. Fruit and vegetable checks are also accepted at some local farmers’ markets.
The program offers breastfeeding education and support through International Board Certified Lactation Consultants, along with registered dietitians, nutritionists, and breastfeeding peer counselors on staff.
