Principal's wero of the week: Dealing with our Emotions We all experience emotions and at times we need to make good choices to best deal with them. Discuss in your class the different emotions that we feel.

Term 4 Intermediate School Ultimate Frisbee League The Intermediate School League this Term runs from Wednesday the 14th of October to Wednesday the 2nd of December, at the University of Waikato fields. This league is open to all teams of year 7 & 8 students regardless of the type of school they attend.
Games will be played from 4.10pm to 4.55pm Cost: FREE Team size: 5-aside (A squad of 8-10 players is recommended) Registrations are open for Boy's and Girl's (mixed teams will have to play in the Boy's division). If you are interested in playing afterschool ultimate frisbee next term please come to waru at morning tea and write down your name, so I can gauge interest and see if we have enough to enter a team or a few teams.

Any students interested in signing up for after school touch, it will be played Monday nights at Swarbrick Park in Term 4. There are divisions in Boys, Girls or Mixed. You can be put into A - Experienced B - Intermediate or C - Beginner grades. So if you are new to touch come along and give it a go! Cost will be $30/student to cover the fees of registering a team. Come to waru at morning tea to collect a notice, I will not make any teams until I have the notice returned and payment has been made. Comp runs for 6 weeks starting on the 19th October.

MAPHP Maths Acceleration (All groups) with Whaea Mal postponed today due to illness.
It's wonderful to see some many students arriving in good time for school. On arrival at school you are expected to go to class, put your bag away before going outside. Bikes and scooters can ONLY be kept in the bike cage.

Principal's wero of the week: Dealing with our Emotions! Using a traffic light can help you to make positive choices e.g. Red = Stop! Pause! Avoid the urge to act on impulse! Yellow = Think, identify the problem, identify and determine the best choice for a positive outcome. Green = Proceed with the best outcome for a positive result!

School Social is tonight! Arrive at the school hall between 6:45 and 7pm. Bring your signed permission slip AND your $5 entry fee, + extra money for food. Remind your parents/caregivers that they will need to pick you up from the school hall at 9pm sharp. Wear mufti or dress to our NEON theme! We'll see you there!
Our neighbours
It is really important that we are respectful of our neighbours and their properties at all times. We have received concerns about people climbing fences in the back corner of the school, throwing items over fences, and taking fruit from neighbouring properties. If you are involved in any of these behaviours, you need to stop immediately.
Staff, please make sure you venture down to the back corners of the field and playgrounds during break times and keep an eye out for any students involved in these behaviours. If students are identified, please let me know, as I would like to speak with them.
