The 2026 theme for Cook Island Language Week ('Epetoma o te reo Māori Kūki 'Āirani) is “Me kite koe i te tuatua i to'ou reo tupuna, e turanga rangatira tena nō'ou no te uki amuri atu”, which translates to “With our language as our foundation, we will embrace the future”

To celebrate Cook Island Language Week, we have put on a little game for Students and Staff to participate in! Hidden around the school are 10 FLAGS. Find the flag. Say the phrase and return the flags to Whaea Serene in Team Waru or Matua Jakob in Team Tekau ma tahi to receive a prize! Kia Manuia! (Good luck!).

Lunch time sports - Today at lunch there will be a game of capture the flag on the football field for Maungatautari and Pirongia students. This will be the first of many games and in a few weeks there will be a competition between the mountain groups! Kakepuku and Karioi, you will play tomorrow.
