Are you a kid with a parent also in school? Or are you a young adult who spent part of your childhood watching your parent achieve their dream of a college degree? We want to hear from you!!
Services for Students with Children at Portland State University is serving as host of the 2018 National Symposium for Student Parent Success. We are pulling together a panel of kids to talk about their experience of having a parent who is a student. If you are between the ages 10 years old and 21 years old, and have a parent in school now, or who completed school within the past 10 years, we would love for you to share your experiences!
Panel Details
If you are interested, please submit a three-minute maximum video and answer the following questions in your own words:
· What has been the greatest challenge about having a parent who is also a student?
· What is the best thing about having a parent who is also a student?
· How has having a parent in school affected your own attitude toward school and higher education?
Please submit your video to nspss@pdx.edu by June 4th. Remember kids, we want to hear from YOU, not your parents, but we do ask that your parent submits your video. If you are chosen for the panel and are a minor, you will need your parent’s written consent. If you have any questions, email Pam at nspss@pdx.edu
