The theme of the 2018 National Student Parent Success Symposium is “Lifting Generations Together.” The conference will be held at Portland State University, Portland Oregon from June 18th to 20th. “Lifting Generations Together” refers to the well-researched knowledge that when a parent receives a degree, it changes the economic life of that parent’s family in a positive direction for generations to come. We can all have a part in achieving a more equitable society by helping student parents achieve their educational goals. For questions, please contact us at nspss@pdx.edu. Fill out the submission form HERE.
The Symposium Advisory Committee invites the submission of abstracts for workshops, papers and panels on the Symposium theme. A planning committee reviews the proposals and invites the panelists and facilitators. The peer review process ensures rigor and relevance of the selected programs. The following areas are of particular interest but we also welcome other topics for submissions as well. Sessions may fall into more than one area, in fact, that is encouraged!
Use the form below to submit your educational session proposal. The proposal deadline is April 15, 2018 at 11:59, Pacific Time.
Proposals will be evaluated based on program content; relevance to the theme, evidence of clearly stated goals and outcomes with specific take-aways; contribution to the knowledge, theory, and practice of supporting student parents; and adherence to program submission guidelines. Collaborative proposals are encouraged.
For questions, please contact us at nspss@pdx.edu.
Thank you in advance for your submissions, and we look forward to seeing you in Portland!
