To be admitted to any of the Music majors, you must:

1. Apply to PSU

2. Submit a secondary application to the School of Music

3. Pass the entrance audition

Undergraduate applicants should prepare works as specified in the School of Music Entrance Audition Requirements. Applicants who wish to audition in person will be scheduled for the next quarterly round of auditions after submitting a completed School of Music Application. Applicants may alternatively upload a recorded audition with their application. Live entrance auditions are held during Finals Week each term.

Scholarship Auditions

Scholarship auditions are held annually during the last weekend in January. Interested applicants may select "Scholarship Weekend" as their preferred audition date on their School of Music & Theater application. To be considered for a scholarship award you must have all your application materials submitted (including an uploaded audition if not auditioning in person) by January 31.

Students who are admitted to the University as non-degree seeking students are not considered music majors.
