Ideas - How to Use This Game in the Social Work Classroom!

Idea A: Have students form groups and pick three social work jobs of the future in the following categories: one they think is most likely, one they think is most preposterous or least likely, and one they like the most.

Idea B: Have students pick the job they'd be most interested in getting and then write out three interview questions they think they might get establishing their readiness for the job. Have the students work in pairs to do mock interviews with each other based on the questions developed.

Idea C: Have students reflect on the ideas they have about the work they intend to do in the future. Have them do research specifically about how issues like rapidly accelerating technology, the growing presence and strength of racial equity movements, and climate change are all most likely to intersect with their preferred areas of practice. Use some of the existing job descriptions as inspiration.

Idea D: Have students develop their own social work jobs of the future based on the structure and themes outlined in the game. Bonus points if they share in the game itself and participate in a global conversation about the future of the profession.
