This innovative program is designed to empower faculty and staff, regardless of their previous experience with generative AI, to harness its potential in research and research administration. No computer science, technology, or programming background is required – our focus is on the practical application of generative AI, accessible to all.
Our mission is to elevate research excellence and streamline administrative processes at PSU. By providing AI tools that automate routine and time-consuming tasks, the Academy aims to revolutionize the grantseeking process and research administration. This approach will drive efficiency, allowing faculty and staff to dedicate more time to the core of their work – conducting and supporting impactful research.

What Does the Summer Cohort Entail?
Foundational Learning: Over the summer, you'll complete two engaging online courses offered by Coursera. Designed for beginners, these courses will equip you with a solid understanding of generative AI and prompt engineering.
Active Engagement: Participate in our biweekly InnovAIte Bytes & Insights Sessions throughout the summer. These lunchtime discussions are a platform for sharing experiences, discussing AI applications, and exploring ethical considerations in AI use.

Please complete the online application form here to apply for the InnovAIte Research Academy. Upload to the online application form a PDF file containing the following:
A brief statement (150-200 words) describing your interest in the program and how you envision GenAI transforming your research (including grantseeking) and/or administration work.
A short description (150-200 words) of a project or initiative where you believe GenAI could be applied to improve efficiency or outcomes.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early submission is encouraged due to limited spots in the inaugural cohort.
