DLTP Professional Learning
The DLTP Project's theory of action is IF teachers complete the PD to become a MS, their mathematics content, pedagogical, and leadership knowledge will increase, and if they use one of the DLTP MS models they will support teachers to: provide effective mathematics teaching by using research-based instructional practices; create effective mathematics learning experiences with activities that require students to do mathematics; and increase their school's capacity for ongoing learning. THEN 1) the percentage of students who show proficiency on state assessments will increase; and 2) equity will improve with respect to the achievement among traditionally underrepresented and underserved students.
The professional learning includes three major components which are:
projectwide meetings • book study • lesson study • coursework
