Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) are organisms that enter ecosystems beyond their natural range. Some AIS including zebra mussels, New Zealand Mud Snails, and Eurasian watermifoil can cause recreational, ecological, and economic harm to the waterbodies of Oregon. The spread of AIS can be unintentionally by boats traveling between waterbodies, or intentionally by dumping aquaria. The species listed below are CLR's focus, but not the only AIS of concern in Oregon. You can learn more about additional Oregon invasive species here.
