Karla Santana Martinez** was hired as the hourly student assistant, and primary support for the K-8 Teachers of Math in Rural Oregon Collective (K8TMROC), an effort funded by the Oregon Department of Education through Oregon State University. In addition to being a source of emotional and social support for teacher, K8TMROC aims to co-design strategies to increase teachers’ capacity to improve their student’s literacy and well-being, especially multilingual learners and students with disabilities. Anne Johnson* achieved a position as the Community Centered Senior Research & Evaluation Analyst with Multnomah County’s Aging, Disability, and Veterans Services Division within the Department of County Human Services. Claire Barrozo** joined Dara’s research groups through PSU’s Promotion Retention Opportunities Advancement (PROA) pathways program, a cooperative arrangement between the Northern Marianas College and PSU under the U.S. Department of Education’s Asian American Native American Pacific Islanders Serving Institutions grant. This program supports Asian American and Pacific Islander students as they transfer to PSU by providing services that will help them identify career paths in STEM, receive mentorship and guidance, and gain research experience that aligns with their educational and career goals. Kaitlin Yeomans* ran a VR demo at Peerpocalypse, the West coast's largest peer support conference, to show how immersive technology is changing the field of both health and mental health work.
