Amanda Singer, EdD, is an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Portland State University’s School of Music & Theater, where she co-directs a new undergraduate program in Social Justice and the Arts. Bringing decades of experience from the discipline of Peace and Justice Studies, Dr. Singer frames her focus as working toward the goal of mutual liberation: restoring dignity in the aftermath of conflict and trauma, bridging divides through deliberative dialogue, centering storytelling in building social change, recognizing artists as dynamic civic leaders, and cultivating rich imagination to possibilize a welcoming future.
