“Educational change is technically simple and socially complex”.
In this article, Michael Fullan speaks about his perspective on the successful implementation of change and its importance within a school context. He identifies having a clear understanding of change processes as being one of the five key conceptions of leadership.
This document from the NCCA looks at the issue of change implementation within an Irish school context, in particular around curricular change.
Participants from the primary sector should please review this case study in advance of this session.
Participants from the post-primary sector should please review this case study in advance of this session.

The PDST Leadership team aim to facilitate a small Comhar focus group session to gather your feedback and experiences of the Comhar programme and suggestions for development of same.
The focus group will be facilitated online via Zoom and will run no longer than 40 minutes.
Ideally the focus group sample would consist of both primary and post-primary Comhar 2022-2023 participants. We hope to capture voices from a variety of school contexts:
Mainstream
Special school
DEIS
Gaelscoileanna
Rural/Urban
Feedback from your surveys at the end of each of the sessions is invaluable and we thank you for this. The focus group will provide us with the opportunity of capturing further feedback in addition to that collected to date.
Once a focus group is established which consists of both primary and post-primary Comhar participants from a variety of contexts and settings we will communicate with the focus group regarding Zoom link and time. Questions for the focus group will be sent in advance.
