Mr. Rago has been a teacher at the Peel District School Board since late 2014. Before this, he was volunteering and working as a substitute teacher in different schools since 2007.
Whoa, that's a long time!
After high school, Mr. Rago went to the University of Toronto where he got an Honours Bachelor of Science studying Psychology and Criminology.
After that, he went to Queen's University to get his Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior Education.
He read a lot of books.
After going to university, Mr. Rago lived at sea on a cruise ship. He worked for Royal Caribbean International, running "edutainment" programs for kids in Adventure Ocean!
That's pretty cool, right?
This gave Mr. Rago the chance to travel the world and some of the seven seas, visiting over 30 countries!
While cruising the Atlantic Ocean, he travelled throughout North America to different states in the U.S.A. and Mexico. He enjoyed the sunny, warm weather when he cruised through the Caribbean Sea, visiting countries like Barbados, Sint Maarten, Dominica, Aruba, and Jamaica.
While sailing the Mediterranean Sea, he stepped foot in many countries in Europe, like Italy, France, Greece, and many others. He also visited countries in Northern Africa, like Egypt and Morocco. He saw the Pyramids of Giza!
But, his absolute all-time favourite was sailing the Pacific Ocean, where he visited Australia and several Oceanian countries like Fiji, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia.
He'll never forget those silky white sands, the coral reefs, the tropical fish... 😍🐠🏖
Mr. Rago likes to be one with nature by going on hikes, appreciating the beautiful scenery, and growing plants in his garden.
He uses a lot of what he grows in the kitchen, like tomatoes, peppers, basil, and other vegetables and herbs, where he spends time making his top-rated, 5-star dinners.
He also loves to bake because "you never know who's gonna stop by!" That's probably a good idea, though, since Mr. Rago likes to spend a lot of time at the gym. He usually goes every night. There, you will usually find him pumping iron with his headphones on, jamming out to some of his favourite music like nobody is watching!
Sometimes, Mr. Rago plays the guitar. He should probably make time in his schedule to practice, though.
Mr. Rago likes to hang out with his super-talkative and super-smart friend named Gracie. She's a Congo African Grey Parrot. She says a lot and means what she says! She can count, identify objects, actions, and sounds using words, just like the late Alex the Parrot.
Her favourite things to ask for are peanuts, walnuts, and candy. She's living the life.
Mr. Rago enjoys new technology. He buys the newest gadgets and occasionally dabbles in gaming. Who doesn't love to play Super Mario? It's a classic. He also loves older games like Starcraft, The Sims, and Sim City.
Whenever he's not at home and has the time, Mr. Rago loves to travel. Nothing beats an adventure-filled road trip, or flying out to explore an unfamiliar place in the world, and indulging in all of the amazing foods, sceneries, and cultures.
He needs to go now...
