Life of a Sixth Grader During a Pandemic

May 13, 2020Jeez, I didn’t know my lifestyle was called quarantine, but at least I get to stay inside right? Wrong. I’m miserable. I know that staying inside-business is my lifestyle, but it's been getting boring. Drawing and texting and posting isn’t sufficient enough for my entertainment anymore.
I miss having to wake up early and go to school, only to go home to my puppy who’s missed me all day. Now he just ignores me. Instead of school, when I'm done my work all my lazy bones do is binge watch my favourite anime twenty times, eat chips, and drink Mountain Dew.
But, I do love doing the art projects Ms. Corbin assigns us. Don’t get me wrong, I like the other projects the other teachers assign us, but the art projects are helping me find a better art style for myself.
I’m also terribly worried about my dad because he has to go out and work because he can’t work from home. I’m also very concerned for my grandparents because they are immune-compromised, especially my grandmother since she has diabetes and other medical issues.
All of the essential workers too—I worry for them. They’re risking their lives to save us and to cure us. They’re really brave for doing this and not just giving up and saying, “Forget it, the world could burn for all I care!” Instead of staying home, they’re helping us. That’s why I thank them for doing what they do.
I think that our prime minister is doing well and dealing with this maturely, but some people didn’t take his speech seriously. But the things people make of this speech are pretty funny, for example Keep Speaking Moistly (80’s Remix) and Bunch of Yahoos Ft. PMJT. These funny, yet immature videos are made by the YouTuber anonymotif. They help give us hope, and sometimes even make us laugh a bunch.
