November 27, 2020As I stepped onto the grainy sand, I felt it squish between my toes. I saw beautiful white seashells washing into the tide pools. I felt the cool, crisp breeze flying past me. I watched melted seaweed washing up on shore, looking like a mini kelp forest. Giant cranes flew by, chirping and squawking as the seagulls were crowing in a loud but calming tone.
I remember looking under the rocks, only to see gorgeous male jumping spiders with blues and greens. As it was sitting in its web, I wondered what subspecies it was. Dead coral rings sat around the rocks. I felt their loops and holes around my fingers.
As I was walking down the shore, I spotted a pearly white seashell flipped on its side. I saw a spot on the beach where there were no rocks. I quickly stepped into the clear water, smelling the clean breeze and feeling its wet surface splashing on my feet. I swam onto an open rock, feeling the mineral grains sliding off of it. I climbed onto it, gazing into the sunshine.
