March 25, 2020On the weekend, I need to do many things such as sleep, rest, play games, homework, and so on. But what if you can't sleep during the day? Or, what if maybe you don't have time for yourself or time to just relax? What if you don't understand the homework or anything? That's why you should have one more day, just one, to fit in some of the things you weren't able to do in the 2 days you had.
People want to have three-day weekends, so they are writing articles about it. It will lift pounds and pounds of stress off your shoulders. It will give you more time with your family, and it might even be more productive. CNBC said, “87% of American workers feel a three-day weekend trip is more conducive to stress relief than an extended vacation.’’
There are 7.8 billion people in the world, most of which would prefer nothing more than a three day weekend over an extended vacation. If we get a three day weekend, then American workers will feel more stress relieved and would be more productive and enthusiastic about work and at work. There are 1.9 billion children in the world out of 7.8 billion people altogether Ask any kid. They would want a three day weekend. If we don't get a three-day weekend, then that's about one-seventh of the world's population disappointed because of one more day that hasn’t changed. You wouldn't want 1.9 billion children disappointed because you wouldn’t change one small thing, would you?
Resting is a very important part of our lives. Every time we get injured, we rest. When we are tired, we rest. When we are sick, we rest. Resting is very important. Everything we do involves at least a little bit of rest. That's why if you get sick over the weekend, you could at least have another day to rest instead of missing school and being put behind. Resting would help us focus on school instead of going to school with no rest, and being too tired and wanting to fall asleep, or just forgetting everything you need to know. We need to rest for our brains to function properly.
A lot may argue that three-day weekends shouldn't happen because it isn't productive. They do have a point, but three-day weekends are actually more productive than two-day weekends because people actually tend to slack off on Fridays because it's the end of the week and they just want to get it over with. Three-day weekends would stop that because the other day of the weekend could be on a Friday. Three-day weekends could also be more productive because it will give more people more time to rest, as I was saying earlier, and they will be more energized the day after. Three-day weekends are also healthier mentally and motivate you to do your work.
That's why I think that we should have three-day weekends over two-day weekends: mental health, motivation, relaxation and just more fun in general. All these things are important to have a good life, and we could have all those things just by changing one small thing. People are trying to get three-day weekends to happen. Workers and families feel that three-day weekends should happen, and I think so too.
