A panel in which you draw an image of what the scene looks like.
Notes field where they can describe what goes on in that scene.
What goes on in each panel should be kept short. If something changes in the scene, like someone new enters, or a character picks something up, that should be drawn in a new panel.
In the notes field you don’t need to describe everything, you should include anything important that isn’t clear just from the drawing. For example, in the drawing a character might look like they’re just pointing with a sword, but you could add a note specifying that the character “swings his sword around”.
The storyboard can be done with just a pencil, but using color can help you better imagine the scene, and it will help make it easier to understand the drawings later.
Remember to try to keep things simple! And try to use a variety of different camera angles:
This lets you have more visual variety all while using the same background/set.

Here's a template you can use for your storyboards
Based on the short story idea, create a storyboard for your Animated Short. Keep in mind that you will use this storyboard as a guide on your final project, so you want it to be as detailed and clear as possible, so you can think through your ideas and get useful feedback before you create your final animation.
Feel free to write on paper, use Photoshop or Illustrator, Procreate. And...here's a cool app that is just a storyboard editor.
