The Woodlands School provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from Grades 7 to 12. Through engaging and differentiated classroom instruction and assessment, students are invited to think critically and creatively and demonstrate their curiosity about learning in the pursuit of excellence. The primary goal of the teaching staff is to ensure that all students receive an exceptional educational program that will help them reach their goals for whichever pathway that they choose: university, college, the workplace, or apprenticeship. Teachers at The Woodlands School hold high expectations for all students.
Students are encouraged to participate in a plethora of extracurricular activities where they experience additional opportunities to grow, learn, collaborate, problem-solve, and show positive leadership.
The Woodlands School is also a regional centre for the education of approximately 360 gifted students. These students are provided with rich curriculum tasks which combine optimal and appropriate levels of challenge and skills.
Teachers use a student-centered approach in order to be responsive to the varied needs of students. Our vision: Inspiring all students in an inclusive, caring, and supportive community to reach their potential as successful and responsible global citizens.
In 2020, 163 students of a graduating class of 213 were named on the Honour Roll, awarded with the Provincial Honour Distinction and were named as Ontario Scholars.
