The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is an Ontario Ministry of Education initiative that allows students to focus their high school studies on a career sector while fulfilling the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Successful completion of a SHSM gives students a red seal designation on their diploma, sector recognized certifications, and enhanced opportunities for career or post-secondary pathways.

DSSS offers SHSM programming in the following sectors: Sports, Hospitality, and Food Processing.
