Global Studies teachers support students explore and showcase identity, culture, social structures and global issues through a variety of student-centred and inclusive activities and experiences outside of the classroom throughout the school year. Some include Remembrance Day, Day of Pink, Black History Month, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Mental Health Awareness week, Indigenous Heritage Month, Islamic Heritage Month and Asian Heritage Month.
Global Studies teachers also act as staff sponsors for a number of clubs relating to the social science and humanities subjects that run throughout the year. Each club provides students with the opportunity not only to develop skills and gain knowledge but to be part of a community.
