2024 Announcements

Good morning,

The players and coaches are working hard to get ready for our first game on Friday at 4pm against South Park. With that in mind I wanted to send out an update.

Also, below is the link for Fall Booster Club concessions.  Many of the high school parents volunteer during the FMS games so that we can watch our kids play.  If FMS parents are able to volunteer for some of the high school (or other) games, that would be really helpful so those parents can watch their kids.

We will practice until 6 on Thursday and I would like the players dressed and on the field no later then 3pm on Friday. Players should wear their black jersey to school on Thursday and we will be in black pants and jersey for the game. Please reach out with any questions.

Looking forward, our next game is Thursday, 8-29, at Buena Vista. We will be leaving school no later than 1:30. The plan is for an A game and then a B game or B scrimmage. If your player is riding the bus back we will drop off at Deer Creek and will have the players reach out when we leave BV.

Good afternoon,

I should have the email list for this year up and running (hopefully)very soon. 

Reminder that we are having a very quick parent meeting tomorrow (Monday) 8/12 right after practice. I will send another email tomorrow with location as I have to clear it with admin. 

Tomorrow, players can drop their bags in the 6th grade pod. I will show them where. They will be changing in the FMS locker room going forward.

UPDATE 8/1/24

Welcome to the 2024 FMS Husky season! We start voluntary practice today at 4pm and will finish at 5:30 pm. We will have voluntary practice on 8/2, 8/5, and 8/7 with the mandatory practices starting on 8/9 which is the first day of school.

We do have school on 8/10 and will have a regular practice that day. At the end of practice we will have a parent meeting (location TBD) to answer questions and get organized for the season. The coaching staff and players are very thankful for the help we receive each year from parents and I thank everyone in advance for your help in making this season a great success.

Please make sure players have plenty of water for every game and practice.

FMS 2024 Football Information

Good day,

As we finish up the 23-24 school year we are already planning the next football season. Our schedule is getting fleshed out and it looks like we will have some new and challenging opponents. Please be aware that we are in the early stages of planning and game/practice may change between now and August. I think we are pretty close to what we will see.

There will be no activities in June/July this year, but athletes are encouraged to stay active.

 Coach Gunkel is planning to have the Jr. Husky Football Camp July 29th - 31st. Details will come directly from him and I highly recommend that players attend.

Fall practices will start August 1 from 4-5:30 (voluntary)* and mandatory practice starts the first day of school (August 8th) from 3:45-5:30. It is highly recommended that all athletes make the voluntary practices. Athletes who attend the voluntary practices will be issued gear first.

You can also access the site from the FMS athletics page. I will be posting updates and information on the announcement page and will use it as my primary mode of communication going forward.
