About me

Hi! I'm Ms. Marifern, the elementary swim teacher and high school health/freshman success teacher. I am excited and determined to uphold a safe and fun learning environment where our kids can learn how to swim, how to be safe around water, currents, boats, cold water, ice safety, and how to be a kind person. Knowing how to swim is an important survival skill for anyone, but especially our kids growing up on this island and being exposed to the elements daily. I put a very high importance on safety and integrity. In my learning environment I will be leading by example that being a good person and treating others with kindness and respect is above all else. I love working with the students and getting to know them and fun in the pool!
