The Plymouth Canton Educational Park Libraries have adapted a No Late Fees policy. Patrons will no longer be charged late fees for overdue books. Once a book is overdue, patrons will see charges for the replacement cost of the book(s) in their Destiny library account. Patron will have the opportunity to return the overdue book(s), in good condition and have the fees removed, pay the replacement fees or replace the copy of the book with a new copy of the same edition.
Students are permitted to bring food and drink into the PHS library for consumption. Students understand that they are responsible for ensuring any trash they produce ends up in the trash can prior to leaving and that they are responsible for cleaning up any messes made. Food and/or drink is NOT allowed in any of the three desktop labs. Failure to comply with any of the above can result in loss of library privileges.
To visit the library during Homeroom, each student needs to do the following prior to the start of 1st period on the Homeroom day:
Email the Librarian at the school that you plan to visit AND CC your Homeroom teacher with:
the requested date
what you plan to work on
Please keep in mind that your Homeroom teacher cannot issue passes to visit the library during Homeroom. If you need to print a paper, please plan to stop by the library during passing time, at lunch, before/after school.
We expect all students to be respectful of others and the work they are doing toward achieving their goals. Librarians reserve the right to cap the number of students during Homeroom and may be closed on certain days to work with specific Homeroom groups.
Teachers may send up to five students to the library media center at one time to work independently or collaboratively. We do reserve the right to send students back to class if there is no space, students are not clear on what they suppose to be doing or if behavior becomes a problem. For more than five students, Teachers may make a reservation to bring and stay with their entire class to the library for the period.
Staff may choose to request a reservation for space in the library, Roving Carts to utilize in their classrooms and/or Desktop Labs located in the library. Please email Rachell Genesky with all requests.
All requests must include space/equipment being requested (names below), date(s), time(s) for each period and if you would like my assistance coteaching. Same day requests will be honored IF space/equipment is available.
