Competition: divide and conquer makes us all weak
This lesson plan is focused on the power of coming together. When we're focused on competing, we can't stand in solidarity, so we're much easier to take down. The key is understanding that the BIGGEST power we have is how very many of us there are. Not only are there a LOT of us, but the work we do IS CRUCIAL! We could so without bankers for a good while, but not without the people who collect waste! Let's look at the strategies that are used to keep us afraid of each other and competing for crumbs.
This worksheet is what we would be doing in a 2-hour class period, where we have a chance to work together. This time is especially valuable because you can really apply the concepts you learned, while getting perspective and support from other folks. . The worksheet represents 2 hours of work in groups of 3.
