An ESOL Level 2 Student Writes About Their Family

My name is Wei Lin. This photo was taken at the World of Coca-Cola Atlanta in 2018. The four people in the front row are my wife, daughter, son and me. My wife’s name is Wen Zhu. She is a property manager. My daughter’s fifteen years old. Her name is Xin Yuan. She is a high school student. My son’s eighteen years old. His name is Yi Cheng. He is a university student. I am a construction engineer in China. I am forty -five years old. I study English at PCC. Now, I am a student too. In the back row of the photo are my mother -in-law and father-in-law. They are retired. We live in West Linn, Oregon.

ESOL Level 2 Students Write About Daily Schedules

My wife’s name is Yi Zhang. She is 47 years old. She is a bit short and a bit overweight. She doesn't work because she takes care of our two children. In her free time, she enjoys listening to Peking opera. Currently, she is taking Enrolled Agent lessons, and hopes to become an outstanding Enrolled Agent in the future. From Monday to Friday, she wakes up around 7:00 am, and she has breakfast at 7:30 am. Then she takes our younger son to school at 7:45 am and returns home at 8:00 am. Then she starts taking Enrolled Agent lessons. We have been married for 15 years, and I love her very much!

I don’t have a busy schedule. I’m taking care of the home. I always get up at 4:00 am to pray Al Fajr. On weekdays at 5:00 am, I prepare breakfast and lunch for my husband. Then, I go to sleep until nine in the morning. I get up at 9:00 am. I make coffee for myself. I eat breakfast at 10:00 am. I call my family. I clean my house. After that, I cook dinner. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, I take classes at PCC Sylvania. I am at school from 6:30 pm to 9:20 pm. I watch TV at 10:00 pm. I go to bed at 11:30 pm.

I have a very busy schedule. I get up at 5:00 am on workdays. I have my breakfast at 5:15 am. Then, I drive to the gym. I like the gym. I exercise until 6:30. After the gym I drive for 15 min to attend my job. I work from 7:00 am to 4:00pm. I eat my lunch at 12:00 pm. After work, I drive to my house. I eat my dinner with my brother and my father usually at 5:00 pm. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I take my English class from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. On Tuesday and Friday I work in the evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

My name is Salar. I am from Kurdistan. Kurdistan is a region close to Turkey. I live in Portland. I just came to the United States. I like to swim and work out and walk and go hiking. So everyday in the morning I take a shower, eat breakfast, brush my teeth and I check my phone.

I have a not so difficult schedule. I work from Monday to Friday. I always get up at 6:30 am. When I work, I work from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. I love my job because it is easy and interesting. When I get home all I do is rest, watch TV and talk with my son about how his day was. Saturday and Sunday in the hot weather we visit the rivers, lakes and go hiking.
