Level 3 Students Write about Ukraine
Welcome to Ukraine!
If you want to visit to one of the largest countries of Europe, than you should go to Ukraine. Firstly, there are many rivers and plains, beautiful forests and mountains, seas and seaports. In the west of the country, there are the Carpathion mountains. The highest point is the Mount Hoverla, 2061 meters. Try to imagine what fantastic views you can see from this peak. It’s like you’re flying above the clouds. It’s really exciting! Visit one of the villages in these mountains to listen to the largest instrument – the trembita. Its length is 157 inches. You can hear it from 6 miles away. In my country there is the sea of Azov. It’s the shallowest sea in the world. If you look at it on a dark starless night, you can see how the water glows. There are tiny seaweed (plankton) glowing in sea water. Secondly, Ukraine is rich in historical monuments. My country has 7 World Heritage Sites, such as Saint- Sophia Cathedral and Kiev- Pechersk Laura. Thirdly, Ukraine is famous for its very good soil. The Ukrainians grow the most delicious vegetables and fruits in the world. Be sure to try Kherson watermelons and cherries! In summary, my country has rich and varied nature and many beautiful historical places, so every tourist can find something interesting for themselves.

Ukraine Is A Big Country
Most of Ukraine is located on the East European Plain. The capital city is Kyiv. It is in the Northern part of Ukraine. Ukraine borders seven countries and two seas. These are the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. There are many rivers and lakes. The largest river is Dnipro. My hometown, Dnipro, is on the river banks. The largest lake is Yalpug in the South. There are many reservoirs. Our famous mountains are the Carpathian Mountains in the West. There are many beautiful canyons. Tourists often visit there. In Ukraine there were many forests, but in recent years they have been cut down a lot. Most of the forests are in the West and Northwest part of the country. The seas are located in the South of Ukraine. They are a favorite vacation spot for many Ukrainians. Ukrainians love tourism, but not everyone has enough money for it, because many people vacation outside of the city. Ukrainians' favorite holidays are Easter and Christmas. During the Christmas holidays, people like to walk around the city and go ice-skating and also eat street food, have hot drinks, listen to music, and watch a music performance. Different regions have different climates, different geographical features and different languages, but we are all united by one country.
