Polaris students were part of a national movement—this music video was composed, rehearsed, and performed by EL Education students during the COVID19 crisis. It was made to celebrate Better World Day where students across the country work with their communities to effect change, a phenomenon started by Polaris students.

In music, students researched their favorite song, studied the lyrics, and learned about chord progressions. They then sent a video of themselves singing their favorite song.
Building on our song research and new learning about chord progressions, we played a game called mystery song! Want to give it a try? Watch this video!
This week students learned how to use their body as a drum set, with a high hat, snare drum and bass. They learned three of the most basic backbeats to be able to play along with some of their favorite songs!
To create their own raps, students first practiced rhyming ending words and then created their own chorus and verses!
