Our new English teacher -

Mr David Wong

Hello everyone. This is Mr David Wong. I am honoured to join the English Department at Precious Blood Secondary School. As a devout Catholic, a committed educator, and a language enthusiast, I look forward to sharing my love of the English language and literature with all of you.

I graduated from the University of Hong Kong, where I studied General Linguistics, Comparative Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Discourse Analysis, Philosophy of Logic, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Neuropsychology, etc. At university, I received volunteer service awards for teaching Cantonese to non-local students and ethnic minority children. Teaching is my ardent passion. Nonetheless, I have worked in other capacities, e.g., in a publishing house, a translation firm, and government departments.

I live a minimalist lifestyle. I find joy in simple things, in the warmth of the Lord’s presence, and in the beauty of nature and creation. I am a voracious reader, an avid art lover and museum-goer. Back when I was a student, I was a cinephile and my school’s quiz team captain. My favourite writers include Oscar Wilde, Victor Hugo, and my own students.

Our new English teacher -

Miss Maahida Khan

Hi everyone! Miss Maahi here. I am thrilled to be the new English teacher at Precious Blood Secondary School for the 2023-2024 academic year.

To teach English to second language learners has always been a goal of mine, hence I graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong with a major in English Education. Apart from learning to conduct regular English lessons, I also took an initiative during my undergraduate years to equip myself with knowledge about the theatre world. So, if you would like to have a taste of acting and drama, I’m sure our English lessons will be entertaining.

Besides, I consider myself to be both a homebody and an adventurer as I navigate through different days. On my laid-back days, I like to sit in and enjoy a couple of episodes on Netflix. But on days when I’m feeling the extra energy boost, my competitive side comes out. So, make the most of it by finding me to play games or solve enjoyable tasks with you, or even against you.

Nonetheless, I am excited to be a part of PBSS, and I cannot wait to meet and get to know everyone! Toodles!

Our new English teacher-

Miss Leana Li

Hello, everyone! I'm really excited to meet all of you. I'm Miss Leana Li, and I'll be joining PBSS as a new associate English teacher for the upcoming academic year, from 2023 to 2024.

During my time at university, I studied English Language and Literature. It was a fascinating journey where I got to explore classic and modern writings. I learned about different writing styles and gained insights into the historical and cultural contexts of those works. My main goal is to build a positive and supportive relationship with my students as we embark on our English language learning journey together.

Outside of teaching, I have a variety of hobbies. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring nature and trying different activities. And on cozy days, I like to relax at home and watch K-dramas. I find it important to have a balance between adventure and relaxation in my life.

I'm really looking forward to an amazing year of learning and growth with all of you. If you ever need help, guidance, or just want to chat, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Let's make this academic year a memorable one, creating lasting memories together.

Our new NET-

Miss Amber Khan

I’m Miss Amber and I’m delighted to be joining Precious Blood Secondary School as NET. I was born and raised in the UK and this will be my second year in Hong Kong; I have loved living in Hong Kong with all its fascinating festivities and traditions.

At university I studied English language and Film, so you'll often find me curled up in a cozy corner reading books and watching films. My favourite films include: Harry Potter (all of them!), Donnie Darko and Baby Driver. I believe that engaging in these activities expands our mindset and allows us to learn and appreciate new things. For example we can use films to share information about our different cultures.

As well as an avid arts fan, I am a keen traveller. I have visited over 23 countries including; Thailand, Philippines, Spain and the US and I hope to travel to Japan and Taiwan next year.

I can’t wait to meet you all this year; let’s work hard and learn together!
