School-based MOI policy (Junior Secondary)
For junior forms, designated classes are required to learn Mathematics, Science and General Computer using English as a medium of instruction. Plus, 25% of lesson time in all subjects (except Chinese and Chinese History) is allocated for extended English learning activities to boost student English proficiency for academic and career needs in the future.
The selected modules of the S1 and S2 Chinese Language curriculum are taught in Putonghua to strengthen their Putonghua proficiency.
The school MOI policy aims to help students become biliterate (Chinese & English) and trilingual (Cantonese, English & Putonghua) so that they can communicate confidently with their counterparts both domestically and internationally.
School-based MOI policy (Senior Secondary)
Students with better English proficiency are allowed to choose English as the MOI in subjects like Mathematics and Mathematics Extended Part Module 1 (Calculus and Statistics), Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Information and Communication Technology to boost their English proficiency further.
Language learning does not just happen in class. Diverse language learning activities are arranged to enrich the English and Putonghua learning environment. For example, English Wednesdays led by our English Ambassadors, lunchtime language events held by Chinese Ambassadors, talent shows, and song and film appreciation. In addition, three languages (Cantonese, English and Putonghua) for the school broadcasts allow students to immerse themselves in a rich language environment.
