in the State of Delaware is often recognized as the "Small State with a Big Heart". This strategic growth plan combines a deep knowledge of modern organizational practices with a keen recognition of brotherhood as the "Sugar and Water" that binds us together. Under the current administration, the state is focused on three primary pillars designed to foster connection, expand our footprint, and ensure the fraternity’s impact is felt for generations to come.
To address perceived disconnects among chapters and individuals, Delaware is prioritizing internal cohesion and streamlined processes.
A Balanced Board: Board appointments are now evenly split between Northern and Southern chapters to ensure unified goals and engagement across the entire state.
Leveraging Successful Entities: The state will work with the thriving 501(c)(3) organizations of the Delta Gamma Sigma and Lambda Delta Sigma alumni chapters to design "signature" events that increase partner engagement and visibility.
One East, One State: Efforts to streamline the "Sigma experience" include a unified RSS calendar feed, organic statewide retreats, and unified Founders' Day and initiation ceremonies to support member retention and reconnect with transient brothers.
Restoring the Unity: Strengthening the bond between Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. through increased presence and joint processes is a high priority.
With a focus on the next generation, the state is maximizing opportunities at existing universities while building protocols for expansion.
Affinity Groups & First Contact: The state aims to identify and engage potential members early, specifically targeting Sigma/Zeta legacies, scholarship recipients, and mentees from programs like the Sigma Beta Club.
The Value-Add: New mentorship programs like "Sigma Talk" will bring experienced brothers into collegiate spaces to transfer knowledge and build professional connections.
Targeted Growth: Strategic efforts are underway to expand to campuses like Goldey-Beacom, meeting students where they are by focusing on business professions and community service.
For Sigma to be "something bigger," the state is establishing a foundation of excellence in programming and recognition.
Strengthening Committees: By building robust work circles for major programs—particularly Bigger and Better Business—the state is increasing its capacity for impactful service.
Meaningful Partnerships: Chapters are encouraged to align with outside organizations that share unifiable missions to increase visibility and intrinsic value.
Honoring the Legacy: The administration is instituting a "Sigma Hall of Fame" to celebrate our history, which will serve as a tool for both engagement and attracting new aspirants.
When this current administration commenced, the "Delaware Sigmas" consisted of 121 members across collegiate, alumni, and transient statuses. Our roadmap is clear: we are pursuing a membership growth target of 20-34% by the summer of 2026, with the ambitious goal of exceeding 35% growth. Through enthusiasm, optimism, and a dedicated focus on these three strategic areas, we are ready for the work ahead.
