About Us

Mrs. Oyer (Students A-L)

I am excited to start a new school year. I taught business and technology classes for 22 years and have been at PBL High School since 1994. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Eastern Illinois University with a psychology minor in 1990. I then went back to earn my Master's in School Counseling from Eastern Illinois University in 2005. I started the 2005-2006 school year as a counselor, but still taught some business classes. I went to full time counseling in the 2011-12 school year. I retired from coaching volleyball in 2015 and now spend a lot of my time with my family. I hope you have a great school year!

Mr. Burns (Students M-Z)

I'm happy to be back for my 7th year at PBL! Before starting here, I spent the previous 2 years doing a school counseling internship and substitute teaching in suburban Chicago high schools. Prior to that, I spent almost 10 years in the business world as a project manager. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication and Human Relations from Western Illinois University in 2000 and my Master of Arts in School Counseling from Roosevelt University in 2010. As always, I am excited to be working with a new group of freshmen and welcoming back the rest of the students who have made the last few years at PBL so fun, interesting and successful!
