Tracer Studies
The primary objective of the study is to monitor the trainees after the conclusion of their work-based training and to understand its short-term effects in their employability, that is, if they did get new employment after undergoing work-based training. This will in part provide information to report on YWPH’s project indicator - “Percent of Individuals with new employment following participation in USG assisted workforce development program”. Aside from the project indicator, the study aims to answer the following research questions:
Job Search and Application
What are the graduates doing after six (6) months from the end of the FTW? Do graduates pursue employment or further training?
How do trainees find work? Is the work related to their technical-vocational training? How long does it take them to find work? What are the challenges faced by trainees in looking for work?
Employment Outcomes
Do youth trainees who finish the Flexible Training for Work program gain better employment (e.g. informal to formal, higher income, safer workplace)?
Job Satisfaction
Do youth trainees retain or change jobs? What are the challenges and issues faced by trainees in starting work and in retaining their jobs?
Do Flexible Training for Work graduates feel satisfied with their jobs a year after the work-based training has concluded?
Gender
Are there differences in experience between males and females with respect to job search and application, employment outcomes, and job satisfaction?
Future Plans
What are the employment plans of the youth graduates (i.e. migrate to another city, country) in the short-run (within the next 12 months)?
