Monitoring Visit Results
This summary discusses the findings from the monitoring visits conducted during year 5 in all Opportunity 2.0 sites of PBEd in order to assess the project, focusing on the findings, recommendations, best practices and challenges observed across different sites.
General Findings:
A recurring issue across all sites is the lack of engagement and participation from private sector partners. This is evident in the high percentages of partners who are unfamiliar with the project, have not received support, or have not participated in activities.
Another common finding is the need for improved communication and coordination between the project and its stakeholders. This includes providing clear information and orientation about the project to both private sector partners and youth participants.
The data also highlights the importance of providing support to youth in their transition to employment. This includes linking them with job opportunities, providing financial assistance, and addressing barriers such as lack of certification.
Overall Recommendations:
Strengthen private sector engagement through proactive outreach, orientation, and the development of mutually beneficial partnerships.
Improve communication and coordination by providing clear information about the project to all stakeholders.
Enhance support for youth employment by facilitating job linkages, offering financial assistance, and addressing barriers to employment.
Ensure rigorous data management through regular quality checks and timely updates.
Best Practices
Consistently observed best practices include:
Strong partnerships with local government agencies and private sector entities.
Direct visits to private sector offices for interviews and engagement.
Effective planning and scheduling of activities.
Utilization of technology (Google Maps, Waze) to enhance efficiency.

Creating a comfortable and non-judgmental environment for youth interviews to encourage honest feedback.
Challenges
Common challenges encountered during monitoring visits include:
Unavailability of private sector partners and youth for interviews.
Lack of updated contact information of partners and youth.
Time constraints for conducting comprehensive reviews.
Limited access to historical data for trend analysis.
