On the western side of Canada, a beautiful country that has just the right balance of urban life and nature, there is one of the most vibrant, lively cities of Canada: Vancouver!
Vancouver is a bustling city in the Canadian province of British Columbia, with a population of 675,218 people. The weather in Vancouver is usually cloudy, sometimes rainy in the summer, and the temperature typically ranges from 35℉ to 73℉ throughout the year. You can find lots of cherry blossom trees in Vancouver, and the best time to see them is during the spring, when they are in full bloom.
One traditional dish popular in Canada is poutine, a dish that consists of french fries and cheese curds with brown gravy poured on them. Maple cream cookies are a common treat that can be found in a lot of stores in Vancouver. Bannock is a fry bread originally from Scotland that was a staple of the First Nations indigenous people of Canada. There is only one restaurant in Vancouver that serves cuisine of the First Nations, called Salmon N’ Bannock, and you can find bannock there, along with many other flavorful dishes. There are lots of restaurants with delicious food all throughout Vancouver, offering food from many different cuisines and countries.
One good place to visit in the urban area of Vancouver is Vancouver Chinatown. Vancouver Chinatown is filled with restaurants serving mouthwatering dishes, as well as a variety of interesting shops to check out. You can take a ferry and visit many different parts of Vancouver, including Granville Island, known for its public market filled with stalls and shops selling everything from food to books to crystals!
Vancouver also has a lot of nature. Stanley Park is filled with lots of gorgeous trees and hiking trails. You can take a horse carriage tour to explore the park as well. Additionally, another great place to visit is the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, where you can cross the suspension bridges there and see breathtaking views of nature along the way. Vancouver has a lot of different varieties of wildlife, including black and grizzly bears, gray wolves, black-tailed deer, and in the water you can find humpback and orca whales, and otters too!
As you can see, Vancouver is a gorgeous place to visit, with so many sights to see and so many opportunities for new experiences!
