Welcome to our 4th class page

Summer is here and the learning continues!

The three months of summer are May, June and July.

May is the month of Mary, Mother of Jesus. Come and see our May altar in class.

We have picked bluebells for the classroom altar, as is the tradition.

On April 27th and 28th we planted cornflower and daisy seeds for summer flowers.

They are germinating already, We hope they will grow. Check back tomorrow for some pictures.

Maths

We are busy completing some Maths Challenges in school.

Remember to use the SYW column. Always SHOW YOUR WORK!

This rhyme helps to remember the number of days in each month:

Thirty days hath September, April, June and November.

All the rest have thirty one, except for February (with 28),

And, one year in four, February has one day more (29).

15/04/21

Maja's snake has just shed! So as we are learning LENGTH (metres and centimetres), we thought it would be cool to to measure the old snake skin. Thanks to Maja, Naomi and Weronika for these interesting photographs. Can you estimate the the length of the shed? I don't think I want to meet the snake in person though, do you?

Jessica's book

We decided that World Book Day (04/03/21) fun can begin a little early this year so here

are some character in the books you read most recently.

Do you like Laura and Jessica's drawings?

Great readers and great artists too!

Please see some more drawings below from Ella, Naomi and Laura (again).

#Smiley Face Pancake Tuesday:- Olivia's smiley pancake is first, mine is next, third is Naomi's and the last one is Jessica's.

We could set up a business, they look so tasty.

Remember to spend 5 - 10 minutes on your Sumdog games. 6 girls did great playing last week and have got their coin rewards now.

Can we double that number this week?

Well done girls, your drawings are lovely! Even though the winning drawing wasn't from our school we had fun taking part.

Well done to our class who presented the Spirit of Christmas hangout today.

You can see and hear the bell choir here!

Our presenters did a great job and we had a lot of fun learning Good King Wenceslas.

4th Class Campus 2 (1).mov

Last October we had a very nice walk to the Palace Park to plant bulbs with Richard and the gardeners form Galway County Council.

Lucky us, the bulbs are growing now that spring is here. Have a look on the page 'Spring in the Palace grounds'.
