Physical Classroom Space Exercise

As we discussed in our first session together, the UDL design process has three steps. Two of those steps are to anticipate barriers and to design options to reduce those barriers. For now, let's start with looking at barriers that exist in your physical classroom space. You will need about 30 minutes for this exercise, but you can break it down into smaller chunks. If you have a co-teacher, TA or IA, or another educator you partner with, then ask that person to also do this exercise. Once you have completed it, compare your results, explore the potential barriers ,and consider small changes you could make that would eliminate or reduce those barriers.
