Animal Extinction, have you heard it somewhere? It is the complete disappearance of an animal species. Sadly, it is estimated that over 99.9% of all animals that have ever lived have gone extinct! WHY IS THAT?! It's because of our human evolution.
So many animals have gone extinct because of climate change, poaching, pollution, habitat loss and many more. There are 9 categories of the risk of extinction to divide the animals based on their population.
Extinct (EX) - Species lost due to the death of the last surviving individual.
Extinct in the Wild (EW) - Species that only survives in captivity.
Critically Endangered (CR) - Species with extremely high risk of extinction.
Endangered (EN) - Species with all live individuals at risk of extinction.
Vulnerable (VU) - Species threatened with a high probability of becoming endangered.
Near Threatened (NT) - Species not currently in danger of extinction, but which of could be in the future.
Least Concern (LC) - Species not in any danger of extinction in the future.
Data Deficient (DD) - Species lacking sufficient information to assess it's risk of extinction.
Not Evaluated (NE) - Species whose conservation status is yet to be determined.
Okay, so that's the 9 'Extinction Risk Categories'
