You don't have to go out and buy expensive high end sneakers, but you should be fitted with a running shoe that cater to your event/arch support/ comfort level. See Cofrancesco/Judilla if you need us to take a look at your shoes. In general, if you've had over 2 seasons of running with one pair of shoes, it's time to get new ones.
There are a number of work outs that require you to measure your time or recovery. You CANNOT rely on Co/Judilla/a team mate to take care of you. Go out and get a cheap $10 CASIO watch from K-mart.
While we compete indoors, we train almost exclusively outside. In certain circumstances we will head inside, but most of our training takes place out in the elements. Hats, long sleeves, hoodies, gloves, leggings, socks, shirts etc. You can always take layers off if you're hot, but the opposite is not always an option.
