College Now/Dual Credit

   Dual Credit...what is it? 

Dual Credit is a program in which students can earn BOTH high school credit and college credit at the same time by taking college-level courses at San Jacinto College while still in high school. 

What are some characteristics of a good dual credit student?

*organized, self-motivated, and responsible

*good attendance

*being able to manage time independently

*maintaining a 3.0 or better

*passed all EOC exams

*have earned all credits in high school so far

Dual credit classes are taken either 1st and 2nd periods or 6th and 7th. with transportation leaving from South Houston HS and returning to South Houston High School after school. 

Classes normally taken:

Grade 1 1

Fall-US History 1301 & Psychology 2301

Spring-US History 1302 & Humanities 1301

Grade 1 2

Fall-English 1301 & Govt 2305

Spring-English 1302 & Govt 2306
